Keys to Successful Family Relationships

Filed under: Relationships, Parenting — by Dean at 11:37 pm on Friday, May 30, 2008

Parenting is not limited only to those who are parents. Ephesians 5 ties marriage to the church, and the church is made up of people. Being a family is actually very similar to being in a church, according to Paul. The relationships are very similar. We need to apply these Biblical family and parenting principles to our lives even before we become parents, and start putting it into practice now.

Getting Out of the Natural

Filed under: Nature of God, Praying in the Spirit — by Dean at 5:23 pm on Friday, May 30, 2008

When I pray in tongues, my spirit is praying, but I don’t understand what I’m saying. We want to get out of heads, and into our spirits. One of the greatest gives from God is the ability to transcend the natural and our minds, and enter the supernatural instantaneously by praying in the spirit.

Breaking Out and Releasing the God Inside Us

Filed under: Bigness and Capacity, Boldness — by Dean at 5:30 am on Thursday, May 15, 2008

II Corinthians 6:11 - Your life and who you are not defined by what you have or what you do in the natural. “Your life is not small, but you are living it in a small way.”

We want to go to new places. We want to go into new things with God that we have never seen before. We are all at different levels, and some of us are moving from being part time Christians to living for God full time. Some people just fit God into their lives, but they don’t understand that their lives are minute compared to the big life God has for them when they commit full time. Being comfortable in the Word, and being able to navigate it and apply it. Praying without ceasing instead of just when we need something.

Filed under: Prayer — by Dean at 4:22 am on Thursday, May 15, 2008

Ephesians 3:14 “I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the creator of everything in heaven and on earth.”

When the scope of God’s plan for you has been revealed, nothing will stop you from praying. Prayer releases God’s power - it moves his hand. Spending time with him puts his plan into effect.

Boldness and Positioning

Filed under: The Tribe, Boldness, Positioning — by Dean at 2:57 am on Tuesday, May 6, 2008

II Corinthians 6:11 - I can’t tell you how much I long for you to enter this wide open spacious life. We didn’t fence you in. Your lives aren’t small, but you are living them in a small way. Open up your life. Live openly and expansively.

A life that isn’t challenged is the life of a person who isn’t living to the level of potential God requires. God is living. Life is dynamic and growing. We are called to be moving, growing - living our Christian life to the full. We always want to be striving and moving towards a place we have never been before. God wants to bring us into new places and into new experiences that we’ve never had. We are the ones that hold ourselves back by focusing on why things can’t happen instead of walking in faith.
